Can I visit Vitestro for a demo?

Yes, we offer tailored visits for health systems, hospitals and labs in the U.S. These visits include a demonstration of Aletta in our office in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and a visit to one our customer sites.

Questions about Aletta®

Is Aletta® safe?

Yes, Aletta has received regulatory approvals from FDA in the US and a European CE mark. Aletta has performed more than 12,000 blood collections in the EU with no serious adverse events. All reported adverse events have been characterized as mild and have occurred at a lower rate than with manual phlebotomy.

Is Aletta® FDA authorized?

Yes. Aletta has received FDA de Novo authorization in August 2026.

What type of patient can use Aletta®?

Aletta is indicated for adult patients 22 years of age and older in an outpatient phlebotomy setting. Aletta may not be appropriate for every patient or every blood draws. Suitability for an Aletta blood draw is determined by the phlebotomy staff at the outpatient center.

Who oversees my blood draw with Aletta®?

A trained phlebotomist oversees the procedure and is available to assist you when needed. A trained phlebotomist can oversee up to three Aletta devices, consistent with the FDA De Novo-authorized indication.

Will Aletta® replace my phlebotomist?

No. Aletta is a complement to the phlebotomy team, not a replacement. A trained phlebotomist continued to oversee the procedure and is available to assist when needed.

Does Aletta® use a new sterile needle for each patient?

Yes. Aletta automatically uses a new, sterile needle and blood collection set for each patient

How does Aletta® find my vein?

Aletta uses multimodal imaging, including near-infrared imaging, ultrasound, and Doppler, to identify and select a suitable vein for blood collection.

Will Aletta® work with my skin tone?

Yes. Aletta uses multimodal imaging, including ultrasound, to identify a suitable vein. Ultrasound is not affected by skin pigmentation, and Aletta has been used successfully in patients across a range of skin tones.

Is Aletta® precise and accurate?

Aletta uses multimodal imaging to identify a suitable vein and AI guidance to position and insert the needle with submillimeter (0.02 mm) robotic precision.

What does an Aletta® blood draw feel like?

Patient experience may vary, but 90% of patients report that an Aletta blood draw is less painful than or similar to a manual blood draw.

What if I am nervous or need help during the blood draw?

A trained phlebotomist oversees the procedure, and you can use the help button at any time to request assistance.

Can I stop the blood draw at any time during the procedure?

Yes. You can stop the procedure at any time by pressing a red stop button located on either side of the device or by pressing the help button located in front of you.

What happens if Aletta® cannot find a suitable vein?

If Aletta does not identify a suitable vein, it will not attempt a venipuncture, and the procedure will stop. The phlebotomy staff overseeing the procedure may recommend scanning your other arm with Aletta or determine the appropriate next steps.

I’m a difficult stick. Can I use Aletta®?

Aletta may be an option for patients who have experienced difficult blood draws or required multiple attempts in the past. In peer-reviewed published clinical studies, Aletta has demonstrated 94.5% first-stick success overall, with a 92.7% success in patients with difficult venous access after a suitable vein was identified. Aletta uses multimodal imaging to identify and select a suitable vein for blood collection.

Can patients that use blood thinners use Aletta®?

Patients taking blood thinners may use Aletta. After the blood draw, standard post-venipuncture care is provided, including the application of a compression bandage, similar to a manual blood draw.

Can Aletta® perform a venipuncture in both arms?

Yes. Aletta can perform a venipuncture in either arm.

Can Aletta® collect multiple blood tubes during one blood draw?

Yes. Aletta can automatically collect and handle up to eight blood collection tubes during a single procedure based on your laboratory orders.
